Be the Guru of Your Industry

When working with my high level coaching and mentoring clients, there is one desire that links them all: They want to be the #1 expert in their industry. They want their own TV show. They want to be on Oprah. They want to be called for radio interviews and seen as the only option for their target market. In short, they want to be a guru.
While there isn't anything wrong with wanting to be a guru, there is one problem that stops most of my clients cold.
If you look at gurus like Oprah, Dr. Phil, Suze Orman- they tend to focus on simple principles and strategies. These simple principles are profound, yet at the same time, and, most importantly, they lead to immediate results. People see them as gurus because they share knowledge with a hungry marketplace. And they are able to share what they know in a way that almost guarantees success for people who follow their suggestions.

What you know is valuable and important, and has the potential to help a lot of people. Don't be like most people: too focused on busywork, like writing blog posts, tweaking your sales copy, and creating new products and programs. What in your system and way of approaching problems is simple yet profound and creates immediate results?
Next, consider how you can share those key ideas with ten more people each week? 25 more people a week? 100 more people a week?
Write down your answers. And then get out there and make it happen.
Taking your "immediate success tips" and put them into the marketplace. You will get feedback very rapidly. To be a guru, you need to assist real people to solve real problems, and you need to do this as efficiently and quickly as possible.
The more people you help in a short amount of time, the greater your business momentum. The fast track to Guru status comes from business momentum.
